NSB Recruitment an exciting opportunity for a Socio-Economics specialist to join this highly acclaimed boutique consultancy.

My client are market leaders in supporting the property industry to develop large scale, complex and high-profile schemes, by assessing the economic, social and environmental impacts of developments at the design and pre-planning stage. They are mostly known for their environmental impact assessment (EIA) services; however, they also have a growing socio-economics and health service line. They are excited to be looking for personable, intellectual and ambitious candidates to join the team. The candidates will have demonstrable experience of providing economic expertise within the industry and are looking for an opportunity to build upon their skills and be part of a growing team.

Due to their ambition, they are recruiting at all levels from Consultant level to Director level. The roles will be integral to the continued growth of the team and on a day-to-day basis,

Location - London office, albeit they split time between the office and WFH. Some flexibility on other geographical locations

Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Undertaking research and analysis & provide strategic advice to clients – liaise with clients from initial enquiry, the instruction process, through to delivery of the advice/ project
  • Develop and deliver Socio-economic Assessments/ ES Chapters, Health Impact Assessments/ ES Chapters, Social Infrastructure Appraisals, Equality Impact Assessments, Regeneration Statements, Social Value, Culture and Community Plans, Economic Benefit Statements, and a range of other related Socio-economic Assessments, Reports and Advice Notes
  • Input into the company’s approach to addressing emerging regulatory compliance and socio-environmental betterment.
  • Drafting of documents for large and often complex projects including report writing, interpreting data and making clear and relevant recommendations
  • Engaging with a range of stakeholders including local authority officers, community groups, statutory consultees and other service providers and bodies (including attendance at public consultation events, if required)
  • Developing new tools, methodologies and approaches & assist with/ lead on business planning and marketing including identifying opportunities and gaps in the market
  • Assist with / lead drafting fee proposals and tenders
  • Assist with/ lead on the day to day running of the socio economic team
  • Mentor and manage more junior team members
  • Manage projects – size of which will be dependent on experience
  • Attends external events to create local contacts and identify business opportunities
