A leading multi-disciplinary building services consultancy is seeking a Senior Public Health Engineer to join their London office. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to take technical and project leadership responsibilities across a variety of commercial, residential, mixed-use, and education projects.
You will work alongside multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, sustainable public health designs, mentor junior engineers, and play a key role in client engagement and project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of public health engineering systems, including domestic water services, drainage, greywater/rainwater systems, and sustainable water management strategies.
- Review, coordinate, and sign off technical drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports.
- Provide technical leadership across projects, ensuring compliance with UK standards and Building Regulations.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and structural teams to ensure integrated building services design.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and consultants on assigned projects.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and graduates, helping them develop technical expertise and achieve chartership.
- Attend and contribute to design meetings, site inspections, and commissioning activities.
- Support sustainability initiatives, ensuring projects meet environmental targets and water efficiency standards.
About You
- Degree qualified in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years’ experience in public health or building services engineering within a consultancy or contractor environment.
- Strong understanding of UK building regulations, public health systems, and sustainable water strategies.
- Demonstrated experience leading projects and mentoring junior staff.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and client management skills.
- Working towards, or fully chartered with, the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers.
