NSB Recruitment are working with a leading independent engineering and services business who are seeking an electrically biased Senior Project Engineer to join their team, based from either Sheffield or Leeds.
This role will see you play a pivotal part in leading the delivery of a major refurbishment project at a live critical data centre near Barnsley. The project is due to commence late summer 2025 and is expected to run for around 18 months, with the potential for longer-term opportunities.
You will take ownership for ensuring that all activities under your control are engineered to specification and delivered safely, profitably, and to the highest standards of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote a safety-first culture across all aspects of the project.
- Contribute to pre-commencement activities to maximise efficiency and profitability.
- Review project scope to ensure full alignment with client requirements.
- Identify project risks and opportunities, taking proactive steps to mitigate or enhance them.
- Ensure engineering solutions meet financial, commercial, and technical objectives.
- Provide accurate and timely progress updates to the Project Manager and Commercial Lead.
- Manage subcontractor resources as required.
- Lead and support project team members to achieve their objectives.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Oversee successful project close-out in line with client expectations, maximising project profitability.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in electrical installations within a construction environment.
- A strong track record in a similar Senior Project Engineer role.
- An industry-recognised trade or professional electrical qualification.
- Experience of delivering high-value building services projects (£10m+).
