NSB Recruitment have an exceptional opportunity for a qualified Landscape Architect/ Landscape Planner with a diverse track record to join a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy.
Location – London, with consideration given to other UK locations.
This is a unique opportunity to join a growing landscape team that has been set up to enhance our clients’ environmental capabilities and to augment and enhance other environmental and engineering services, e.g. Ecology and Biodiversity Net Gain, and to progress their journey towards diversifying their environmental consultancy offering, with a focus on sustainable carbon-neutral developments, biodiversity and nature-based solutions across all projects. You will also assist with exploring, identifying and developing opportunities to grow the landscape capability, to offer an enhanced service to their clients, project teams and other discipline teams.
You will lead the technical contribution to projects, whilst contributing to business development. This position requires you to perform a variety of complex technical, professional and financial activities. You will liaise with others advising on professional matters in connection with individual projects or project portfolios and will work towards developing long-term client relationships and securing new and repeat work.
As part of the day-to-day role, you will manage medium-sized projects or several small projects with complex features. It is essential to fully understand the scope of projects and ensure all additional works above and beyond the contracted scope are documented as appropriate with the Client (for sign off and approval). This forms part of you being a technical lead for your area of expertise while supporting the development of the team.
Responsibilities & Tasks
Contribute to and enhance our client’s capability in landscape planning, design and management, landscape-led and integrated masterplanning, green infrastructure and nature-based solutions, natural capital and biodiversity net gain, for application across a wide range of transport and utility infrastructure projects as well as urban expansion and regeneration projects, in all stages of project delivery. Key activities will include:
- Prepare landscape designs, specifications and management plans, tender documentation, scheme evaluations, design statements and other reports as identified in the Project Quality Plan on assigned projects.
- Monitor quality of the Landscape Design and Assessment team’s work in accordance with good landscape practice, relevant standards, Codes of Practice, current design methods and Health & Safety legislation
- Implement the project requirements to fully meet the client specification in accordance with relevant standards and signed contract parameters.
- Engage in client and third-party liaison within the scope of the signed contract parameters.
- Undertake marketing and business development role to achieve full potential of project scope and budget spend.
- Constantly promote the capabilities of the company to current and prospective clients
- Comply with IMS & BMS procedures.
- Undertake Performance Development Reviews (PDR) for all reporting staff and support learning and development opportunities.
Ideally You Will Have The Following
- Degree level qualification in Landscape Architecture or recognised equivalent;
- Postgraduate diploma / Masters qualification in Landscape Architecture or recognised equivalent;
- Experience delivering Landscape and Visual Impact Appraisals and Assessments;
- Experience in the successful delivery of landscape and urban design projects desirable.
- Experience of managing landscape design during the construction phase desirable.
- Ideally experience in Revit / Autodesk Civil 3D / 3D Visualisation / GIS
- Fluent spoken English with excellent verbal, written and graphic communication.
