NSB Recruitment have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Senior Controls/ BMS specialist to play a key role within this award-winning, data-led, energy management and technical engineering consultancy.
Location: Fully remote, with travel as required.
You will be working with our clients existing team supporting, managing & delivering on a wide range of energy and technical management services, sustainability and Net Zero advice, delivering real cost and carbon reduction benefits across all buildings and sectors.
This role oversees and optimises the company's building technologies/ Controls division. It is responsible for driving profitability, ensuring efficient resource allocation, maintaining high standards of quality, fostering strong client relationships, managing projects, and maintaining compliance with industry standards.
In addition, you will provide guidance and leadership to the existing team. This includes setting clear performance expectations, conducting regular performance reviews, and identifying opportunities for professional development.
The key responsibilities for this role include:
Project Management:
- Develop scope and briefs for automation projects as directed or requested.
- Ensure all pricing is approved by a director before project commencement.
- Manage and maintain project quality through effective administration and the implementation of the buddy system.
- Proactively address project challenges and obstacles to minimise disruptions and delays.
- Develop and execute weekly, monthly, and quarterly resource plans to meet project requirements.
Financial Management:
- Manage the Profit & Loss (P&L) & ensure pricing strategies are aligned with company objectives and profitability goals.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for automation projects.
- Allocate resources effectively to maximise efficiency and productivity.
- Provide regular updates and reporting on the progress of automation contracts and projects for stakeholders and senior management.
Business Development
- Identify and pursue business growth opportunities.
- Serve as the primary liaison for client inquiries, requests, and escalations related to automation projects.
- Address client feedback and concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
Team Leadership
- Provide leadership to the building technologies team, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Set clear performance expectations for team members and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Act as a liaison between the team and senior management.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Undertake fee-earning fieldwork, including installation, audits, surveys, and project implementation as necessary.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for automation projects, including clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Act as a source of specialist knowledge within the organisation.
Ideally You Will Have the Following
- Experience in Energy Management/ Building Management Systems sector.
- Excellent working knowledge of Trend and/or Tridium, RDM, and other control systems, including the ability to create a high-level graphical representation of the installed BMS solution.
- Strong documentation skills for preparing reports, manuals, and other documentation.
- Good electrical knowledge and sound understanding of M&E systems, including fault finding.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, team members, and external partners.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to exceeding client expectations.
