The successful candidate will play a key role in collecting, managing and analysing energy and carbon data, generating insights to support decarbonisation strategies, performance tracking and sustainability reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Analysis & Insight
- Analyse trends in energy consumption, carbon emissions and operational performance.
- Produce clear, concise data visualisations, summaries and commentary to support business decision-making.
- Support modelling and assessment of energy efficiency and decarbonisation initiatives.
Data Collection & Management
- Collect, clean and validate energy, utility and carbon data from internal systems and external data sources.
- Maintain accurate, consistent and well-structured datasets across reporting periods.
- Support the development and maintenance of dashboards, data pipelines and data quality processes.
Reporting & Compliance
- Assist with the preparation of internal and statutory sustainability reporting, including SECR, ESOS, GHG Protocol and CDP.
- Ensure calculations align with recognised methodologies and standards.
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly energy and carbon performance reporting.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with engineers, energy managers, finance and central support teams to ensure seamless delivery of projects and reporting outputs.
- Provide guidance and support on data collection and reporting processes where required.
- The role may also involve undertaking additional responsibilities appropriate to the level of the position, as required.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret and clearly present data.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel capability, including pivot tables, lookup functions and data cleansing.
- Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction and analysis.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage and interrogate large datasets.
- Demonstrable interest in sustainability, energy management, carbon accounting or climate change.
Desirable:
- Experience using Python or other analytical tools.
- Understanding of energy data (electricity, gas, heat) and carbon accounting methodologies, including GHG Protocol and DEFRA/BEIS emission factors.
- Familiarity with business intelligence platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Exposure to energy efficiency or sustainability frameworks.
- Understanding of data warehouse structures.
